The Bayer Group is a life science company with three divisions: prescription drugs, consumer health products and crop science (animal health as a separate business unit). Corporate functions, business services and service company Currenta support the company's various operations. In 2018, the Bayer Group has 420 subsidiaries in 90 countries around the world.

The business department is responsible for business operations
The Prescription Drugs division specializes in prescription drug products, especially in the areas of cardiology, gynecology, and oncology, hematology, and ophthalmology. The division also includes the imaging diagnostics business, which is responsible for the sales of diagnostic imaging equipment and required contrast agents.
The Health Consumer Products Division sells over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, including skin, nutritional supplements, pain relief, digestive health, colds, allergies, sinusitis and flu, and foot care.
Crop Science is a world-leading agricultural company with operations in seed, crop protection and non-agricultural pest control. The Crop Protection / Seed Operations division sells a broad portfolio of high-value seeds and innovative pest management solutions, while providing a wide range of customer services for sustainable agriculture. The Environmental Science Operations Division is responsible for providing products and services for specialized non-agricultural applications such as vector and pest control and forestry.
The Animal Health business unit is one of the world leaders in innovation in this field. It develops and markets products and solutions designed to prevent and treat pet and livestock diseases.
